Exclusive and private Diving experiences.

Established 2004, Specialist in Private Diving Services

I have a passion for diving and teaching to the highest standards. I was brought up as a British expatriate and went to boarding school in the UK. I have lived and traveled extensively in Asia, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Africa, the USA, South America and Europe

Prior to my career change I served as a Captain in the British Army followed by 20 years as a senior executive in a global Footsie 100 company. Throughout this time I have enjoyed hosting people from all walks of life on an exclusive basis. (Formula 1, Golf, Tennis, Rugby, Snooker, Sailing, Politicians, Film Stars etc..)

I initially learned to dive in 1968 on the then uninhabited island of Pulau Tioman of the east coast of Malaysia followed by dive training at Fort Bovisand in Plymouth and HMS Haslar in Portsmouth UK. After a break of 20 years I returned to recreational diving in 1997 and turned professional in 2004. To date I have dived in Malaysia, Kenya, UK, Cyprus, Ireland, Crete, Grenada, Spain, Brazil, the Greek Islands, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Thailand.

It did not take me long to realize that much of today’s dive education is rushed on brief vacations as part of a standard dive school package. I understand there is a genuine need for those who want to learn at their own pace, in their own surroundings and perhaps over a longer period. Similarly there are those who are already certified divers who realize there is a lot more to diving than they have been taught and possibly forgotten who enjoy the thought of being with a private instructor. All my clients enjoy being treated on a private and exclusive basis.

I established ScubaNicks in 2004 and have since worked as an independent company / consultant in Phuket, Thailand.
